Here is the Before of our Master Bedroom. All I added since moving in was the duvet, which I did love..... but the new room is so much better!!!

Here we have the mostly done after. Still moving accessories, and debating on the picture on the left side of the bed in the photos, but the new KING bed is great! I love to cuddle don't get me wrong, but oh the space is nice!

Here are the rest of the accessories waiting for some sort of placement. Love the little dragons, need some great books to put between them!

Hydraulics for Beds!

I think this picture may bed describe my love for Ikea currently. Check it out. A king bed worth of storage at a 14" depth. LOVE!!! We finally got a new bed set too from Dwell at Target. While the wall color looks a little off given the flash, it actually go goes nicely. Today Lots of painting of furniture for the dining room!

Oh craigslist how I love you! Here is my score for today. These beauties are coming home tomorrow afternoon to living in our living room as the end tables and sofa table I have been searching for. Cross fingers that they fit! I haven't decided if I will paint them out yet. I was thinking brick red high gloss - I like the white tops - got to see them in person first. I asked Mr. Stiles for a professional paint sprayer for my birthday - we already have the compressor. I think he was scared I showed so much interest in a tool. He smiled and asked me if we should buy the house next door to store the things I would have to get from Craigslist because they would look great distressed, painted out, refinished, insert next comment here. I smiled and said - sounds like a plan!

PB Look for $6.79

Here there are... again. Pretty huh? Okay so they are ugly as can be, and came with their own "special" amount of dirt - but I really thought they would be great in our living room. I have had my eye on a couple of red Pottery Barn Lamps that are $229.00 each. While I have totally come up with a plausible justification of these lamps, I had yet to share it with Mr. Stiles. I just somehow did not see him sharing in my revelry. Now, I know if I had really wanted them he would have have just given me that look, "really mollie, and winked" - but I would have been stuck with those suckers for life! So Plan B. These beauts are the same basic stacked geometric format and $4.00 was a steal! Little Sanding, Priming, and some Brick Red Paint. A New Lighting kit ( which the cute little old man at home depot totally helped me with), a white shade, and VOILA! $6.79 Lamps. PS - you will see my owl's new home ;0)

Spray away!

Our very sad end table before (don't look hard at the tables they are leaving!)

All dressed up after!

Love that silly owl!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Good Day, Good Cheer, Goodwill

Since Mr. Stiles is off to Texas for business I decided to go wandering north of our home to Goodwill. I had never been there, but had a strict list of things to look for in my head.

1. Some sort of animals to use in place of the ones I just love from Z Gallery. I would really like them, but at $50-$100 an animal - time to look elsewhere

So I found these lovelies! $3.00 a piece a steal! I can't wait to paint them tomorrow. I am thinking red instead of white as an accent for our living room. Stay tuned!

Well, I almost made it out with only $6.00 - then I saw this... ahhh the style chair I have been oggling for months and it was only $8.00!!!!! Time to learn how to recover a chair!

Lets Begin at the Beginning....

Almost a year ago Mr Stiles and I combined two homes into one. It was the best and most stressful decision ever. You see I love him to pieces, but also adored my house. Of course I picked him, but moving into a very modern house has been a *little* hard for me. With all of it brand new it almost seems more daunting to make it feel like a home. That, and the strict no knick-knack policy in this hacienda. So this summer, now that the dust has settled, the wedding is in pictures, and the time is available - I am ready to get to work turning this anonymous house into our home.
